the king grinned as tony let out a light chuckle and agreed to his friendship words. “i am GLAD to hear that.” he nodded, still grinning at tony. t’challa didn’t have a whole lot of friends and so it was nice to put the past in the past… not that tony and t’challa ever had much conflict. “not RECENTLY, no.” t’challa answered and raised his chin for a moment. “i received a letter from him about a month ago asking how the work with mister BARNES was going.” he paused for a moment. “AFTER that… nothing.”
tony too is lacking in genuine friends these days, thus he’ll take nearly any opportunity he can to reconcile with those he once thought close. ❛ how is the work with him going? ❜ tony’s own chin lifts as he feigns genuine interest in the man now in question, though he truly cares very little for him. he knows the past is the past and that bucky had not been himself, but it doesn’t fix what happened nor change it. still, it’s easier to ask about him than it does about STEVE; the latter man had hurt tony in ways he’d never anticipated. hadn’t they been friends?
