tony stark you know who i am. est. 2013, revamped 2017 brought to life by Manon mun/muse: 21+ please read about & rules tracking #ironformed prev. ironfallen. 4yrs exp. as tony |
you’ve been warned. anyways, i want to address a few things i noticed in this movie, and they’re things i’m so very grateful to sony for doing. first of all, tony has matured well beyond what anyone could have expected of him. he’s helping pepper run the company ( a company that is still his, for his name is still on the buildings, tho obvs pepper is his ceo ), he’s keeping tabs on peter, and he’s not focused on his suits anymore. that’s another aspect that pepper comes in on: he’s changed so much for her sake. in civil war they’d decided to go on a break, a decision i honestly wasn’t too happy about, but i think the fact that he’s doing so well for himself and PRIORITIZING his life has helped convince her that he’s truly trying to better himself.
and it’s not for pepper ( not completely ), because she was out of the picture ( at least for a little bit ); it’s for himself. obsessing over suits 24/7 ( exhibit a: iron man 3 ) wasn’t healthy for either of them, and tony paid very little attention to pepper ( tho understandably so, as he was coping with the events of avengers, as well as afghanistan still ), which probably aided in them deciding to take that brief break ( as well as the fact he was being somewhat reckless as iron man [throughout the years], and him simply being stressed / distracted by the avengers and accords; he needed to figure that stuff out on his own ). but they’re together again in this movie because he’s finally focused on himself, and he’s finally learned how to balance his life in a healthy way. in talking to @freckledboss, we’ve got two theories for why tony was in india. ONE, he was there on a retreat of sorts to find himself ( and i think it helped, if this is the case ). TWO, he was there either to look at wedding venues ( for him and pepper obviously ), or even there to lowkey marry pepper in private / away from the media. tbh, i like any / all of the above ideas.
and then we look at how he interacted with peter. can i just say how absolutely fucking attractive it was to see tony acting so fatherly to a kid that isn’t even his? to see how much faith he has in peter, despite the kid being only 15? tony’s always been worried about having a kid, i think, because he feared he’d end up like his own father. then comes along harley ( iron man 3 ), and then peter, and acting as a father figure is put into more of a perspective for tony. he needs experience before he settles down and has any of his own, but now he knows he can be a better dad than his ever was. what drove it home for me was when tony stepped out of that suit to confront peter in person, and how peter said seconds before that if he ( tony ) really cared, he’d be there right now; and he was.

We are compiling a (new) MASTER LIST of all the characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you have an MCU character (OC or canon) or if you have a verse for MCU, please reblog this and put your characters name in the tags. If it’s an OC or you have a cross-over verse, place that in the tags as well. (This list DOES include characters from Agent Carter.)
DO NOT REBLOG this if you are a COMIC character, a character from AOS, or the Netflix Series. ALL of those categories have their own lists because it’s easier to have separate lists, for organization purposes. Check the blog for the links to those other lists.
goodnight, my peeps. heading to bed semi-early since i work 5:30am tomorrow. love you all so very much, and like this post for a starter tomorrow! i’ll be slightly selective, as i don’t want to get too overwhelmed on this blog. ♥
